This performance is 22 minutes long and will remain on-view post-performance as a dome projection.Post-performance, join us to see the interactive installations of Mackenzie Bedford, Kurtis Lesick and Hesam Ohadi at TELUS Spark's Feature Gallery.About the performance:Ophiuchus - the snake charmer, the healer, the cosmic reject- is the thirteenth sign exiled from the zodiac wheel yet recognized by NASA as a major constellation along the ecliptic. In Latin,Ophiuchus translates to serpent-bearer and is associated with deities across history known for their unparalleled healing abilities. While the sun passes briefly through this constellation, the sign remains to this day, overlooked along the ecliptic. Its presence however, is unwavering in the starry firmament, positioned directly at the heart and center of our galaxy.About the artist:Uii Savage is an emerging artist who studied art at Coleg Sir Gar (Wales) and received a BFA from the Alberta University of the Arts (2020) in Mohkinstsís (Calgary). Their work takes form in audiovisual performances, augmented reality, and 3D-rendered video. She has recently shown work with The Art Gallery of Alberta (Edmonton), Salmon Arm Arts Center (Salmon Arm), Factory Media Centre (Hamilton), NFT.NYC (NYC), Arts Commons (Calgary), Viviane Art Gallery (Calgary), and Something Special Studios (NYC).
