An Opportunity to Do More: Join the EMMEDIA Board

If EMMEDIA has played a meaningful role in your career, or if you believe deeply in the power of media arts to shape culture, community, and critical dialogue, this is an invitation to take that connection further.

EMMEDIA is looking for new Board Members to help guide the organization into its next stage. This is an opportunity to contribute your skills, perspective, and care to an organization that has supported artists and audiences for decades. Ensure we continue to thrive well into the future.

ABOUT EMMEDIA

Founded in 1979 and incorporated as a non-profit society in 1983, EMMEDIA is one of Canada’s longest-running media arts centres. Run by practicing artists, EMMEDIA supports our community by offering affordable access to media art production tools, technical and educational support, and developing professional opportunities and ambitious public programming that reflects the evolving nature of media art.

WHAT DOES A BOARD MEMBER DO?

As a Board Member, you’ll play a key role in leading, stewarding, and safeguarding EMMEDIA’s future. Working closely with staff and fellow board members, you will help ensure that EMMEDIA’s programs remain aligned with its mission, vision, and strategic plan, while responding to the needs of artists and the wider community. You’ll gain hands-on experience in arts governance and administration and you’ll be part of the conversations that help determine what EMMEDIA becomes next.

We are especially interested in individuals with experience in human resources, fundraising, and legal expertise, though no prior board experience is required.
