What IS installation art exactly?

What is the difference really between projecting an image and playing it on a monitor? How can spatializing your artwork change the meaning of it?  

Join us for a workshop on Installation Art led by EMMEDIA’s Artistic Director, Sharon Kahanoff. We will learn a little about the history of this art form, and create some artwork on the fly. Remix your art, change it into a different design and experience how the work shifts according to how it's arranged in space. 

This workshop is intended for anyone who has never made installation art before, and for installation artists who want to try out different things to help inform their artistic decisions.

Sharon has a long background teaching visual and media art and is very easy to talk to. Sound clips and image clips will be provided but feel free to bring your own works to play with our gear and try out the possibilities.
