About the Emerging Digital Artists Award (EDAA)The Emerging Digital Artists Award (EDAA) is Canada’s leading prize dedicated to recognizing early-career artists working in digital media. Presented annually by EQ Bank, the EDAA celebrates innovative, experimental, and boundary-pushing works that explore the evolving relationship between technology and contemporary art.Since its launch in 2015, the award has highlighted outstanding contributions in digital images, video, animation, web-based projects, games, AR/VR, and more. Each year, five selected artists receive a $5,000 prize, national exposure through a public exhibition, and inclusion in EQ Bank’s digital art collection.This year, EMMEDIA is honoured to be part of the EDAA’s travelling exhibition, joining a national conversation on the future of art and technology. We’re especially thrilled to highlight that two of the featured artists hail from right here in Alberta: Moni Omubor, based in Lethbridge, and Studio Ekosi (Caeleigh & Keara Lightning), based in Edmonton.
