In an unnamed place, in an unnamed time, a man and a woman go through the motions of life, fused to each other for a reason neither of them can remember. Meandering through a withering landscape of loneliness and thread-bare self consciousness, Sand Castle is an experimental film that explores the futility of relationship and our inability to escape it. In this stark black and white world, all desires and memories are sublimated into shades of grey.

Tools are changing. Instead of picking an instrument to play a sound or tune, we can now create digital instruments to leverage the infinite possibilities of the computer. We are able to separate the interface from the sound generator; we can combine guitar with violin or piano with a video game controller. What about moving to the next level? Is a true mastery of the contemporary interface even possible? Adam Tindale will demonstrate the various hardware, software and interfaces that he employs in his efforts to master this technology. Pure Data, ChucK, Marsyas, Linux, Mac OSX, are some of the tools he uses to create custom software for his interfaces. Adam will present a performance and give a short talk about his discoveries and contributions.
