La mission du centre de distribution Les Films du 3 mars est de distribuer, diffuser, éditer et promouvoir le cinéma indépendant et d’auteur de tout genre (fiction, documentaire, animation, ou expérimental) et de toute durée (court, moyen et long métrages) principalement québécois dans un premier temps, puis canadien et international, dont la démarche soit d’abord cinématographique indifféremment du support de tournage ou de diffusion qui lui peut être le film ou la vidéo.

Founded in 73 as Satellite Video Exchange Society, the Video In Studio is an access centre operated by and for independent video makers, experimental video artists, and media/community activists. Video Out is a non-profit, artist-run distribution centre that has distributed artists’ tapes to festivals, galleries, educational institutions, broadcasters, and individuals since 1980. There are over one thousand four hundred art works and documentaries available for licensing. The works in the collection have been produced independently on video or digital formats and date back to the origins of media art production in British Columbia. Video Out plays a key role in maintaining the history of Western Canadian media art and promoting its future.
