Snail Trail is an installation that incorporates a laser animation that is projected 360° onto a column, where the viewer walks around around to follow the course of the snail. The projection surface is made of a phosphorescent material, which creates a glowing trail that fades out slowly, letting the viewer simultaneously see what’s happening, what has happened and what will happen. This reflection on time is elaborated further through the endless cycling of the work, as well as through the recurring pulse of sound and light, which references the periodic natural phenomena like the tides or the seasons.
