Shelley Ouellet is assembling the original cast from Radiant, a performance project originally created for the “New Faculty Show” at the Illingworth Kerr Gallery in 2009. With the support of Calgary 2012, EMMEDIA and the Radiant Ladies, she is restaging Radiant for International Women’s Day. While in residence at EMMEDIA, she will develop a website to publish biographical information about each performer marking this time in Calgary’s cultural history and creating a valuable resource for the future.

“When I imagined the performance, I saw a big crowd dotted with women waving fans. Each woman fanning in her own way while doing what she does. Creating movement in the air that will touch everyone around her. I imagined gathering 100 women who individually contribute to Calgary arts community in a myriad of celebrated and understated ways. Artists, writers, historians, students, teachers, administrators, mentors, and supporters, who through waving a fan, can collectively change the temperature.” - Shelley Ouellet
