This workshop introduces and explores the art of visual storytelling – the foundation of every great project. It will take you from the inception and visualization of story to the shooting and editing of it. Topics include an overview of scriptwriting structure and how to construct a shot-list; demonstrations of the principles of composition, framing, staging, and dramatic effect; strategies for making your stories clear, compelling and engaging; and a comprehensive breakdown of techniques which allow your audience to relate to your characters’ world. Techniques learned in Visual Storytelling can be applied to all genres of media production, including narrative, documentary, experimental, and performance-based projects.
