Projection Mapping Basics

Presented with Beakerhead and Calgary Public Library

Saturday, September 16, 2017 @ 1 – 4pm
Memorial Park Library – 1221 2 St SW
FREE, Registration required

Projection mapping gives the artist the possibility to create illusions of deconstruction and redefinition of physical shapes, right in front of your eyes. It is a technical process, wrapping projected virtual content around a real world object, much like a second skin of light. It is a great way to create amazement and never fails to astonish. The workshop will be a comprehensive introduction to the tools and methods to create these illusions, as well as an approach to ideas and concepts for such projects, based on an example created collectively during the classes. Learn an introduction to workflow and technical skills.

All participants will be provided with a projector, however everyone is required to bring a Windows or Mac laptop pre-installed with a demo version of the projection mapping software, Painting With Light, available here.

The instructor will be in contact with all of the participants prior to the workshop date to determine each individuals’ requirements for outputting video to their projector, however interfacing via HDMI is preferred.

There are very limited seats for this workshop, so please register by emailing
